Hello Neil. A lot of guys surfing on Twitter and Tumblr know your work as fetish photographer. I think everybody who is watching your photos will feel, very fast, that you have to have an enormous leather fetish. What kind of feelings and emotions do you associate with leather?
Leather to me is the ultimate in a show of masculinity in the gay fetish world. It portrays power and domination, and there is nothing hornier than a bar full of leather men. It evokes all images I grew up as a gay man with, from the iconic pictures of Tom of Finland, to movies like Cruising etc. I know whenever I wear leather, it does have an empowering effect, as well as feeling so horny to wear and been seen wearing. I just hope that my images portray those feelings of gay male power and sexual domination.
I am sure, that your images are transferring these feelings if the beholder is receptive for it. Why are, for you as artist, fetish motives interesting to work with?
I love to continue to explore gay fetish within the leather and other gear scenes like rubber etc. I enjoy creating a single image that is maybe like a freeze-frame from a movie, something that captures the whole horny essence of a scenario, leatherman, boss, domination etc. I regard myself very lucky to be able to be creative within a fetish that I also enjoy personally. Also, to be appreciated by others is an amazing buzz.
How difficult is it to work with fetish guys? I know that we can all be princesses if we want, and gay men can be very complicated if it concerns pictures of ourselves.
Lucky man! 🙂 What is for you a good fetish picture? And where do you find your inspiration?
I think it’s just a part of the job of being a photographer to work with the egos of either professional models or private commissioned jobs for individuals. I think the trick is to use any ego on set to the advantage of getting the best results of a shot. I have generally found that fetish guys are so passionate about their gear and fetish that they are easy to work with to get great images. I never have experienced an ego fight between diva models on set, unless it’s a horny wrestling themed shoot 😉
I love an image that fires the imagination in the viewer, either a horny scenario or scene that could lead to further sexual adventures. I like to tease the viewer with the ideas of what could be also be possible. My influences in the fetish and bondage scenes still relate back to my love of comic book fight and capture scenes, as well as the old style, good vs bad, B-movies. My images are all those influences taken to a perverted deviant level with addition or leather and rubber.

Do you do just stage photo shootings, or do you do also session pics? Is photography just an instrument to create scenes, or is it also a way to keep alive lived moments for eternity?
I do both, and love the variety it gives. The stage photos are usually for promotions, i.e. for Invincible Rubber or the upcoming UK Leather Pride, or personal photoshoots for individuals. I love doing event photography too, where you capture an unexpected moment. Sometimes those shoots are rewarding, with just one shot that can portray the entire feeling of the event.
Are there pictures in your mind you haven’t taken till now? And what kind of pictures would that be?
I have a couple of ideas for some future images. I want to blur the staged shot within a real location and event, having the extras as real people with the focus on two models/guys. I’m hoping to try and work on this idea over the UK Leather Pride within a bar full of leathermen 😉 I’ve also been intrigued with the whole “transformation” into gear becoming a different person, I’d like to explore this more too.
That sounds interesting, and we are looking forward to see the results. Do you want to tell us which of your fetish photos do you like most and why?
That’s a very hard question to answer. I do love shooting superhero images for www.eyeofthecyclone.com as that’s a personal passion of mine, being a huge comic book geek. It’s also great to see a fetish shoot that you may have planned in your head come together with the location, models and gear. I always regard myself as a very lucky bastard to work in a profession I love and be involved in a whole world, a horny kinky man! 🙂
