But here’s the truth: Slaves are not inferior. If a “Master” truly believes they are, he’s not a “Super-Master” – he’s just an asshole.
Real dominance doesn’t require arrogance; it requires competence and deep appreciation, even if that looks radically different in the Kink world (Underworld) than it does in “vanilla” society (Overworld). As a slave, you need a Master to fully live out your nature. But a Master needs his slaves just as much to even be a Master. You have immense value to him. You are anything but worthless.
However, humiliation is an essential tool for shaping a slave. It’s never about causing harm. As I often say: I would never strike someone I didn’t like, and I would never humiliate someone I didn’t have an extremely high opinion of.
So, why do we do it? What is the purpose, and why do so many subs crave it? I want to dive into that here.
Ego Management: The Mental Break
Whether it’s for a few hours, an intense weekend, or a 24/7 lifestyle, at its core, it’s about catapulting someone out of their everyday life. You leave your backpack full of overworld responsibilities in job, family, society at the cloakroom. Your civilian life has no business being in the dungeon.
Diving into a completely different world means surrendering decisions. When I convey to you that you are “nothing,” I am giving you the freedom to stop deciding. Your only “achievement” is to fulfill my demands in the here and now. No planning, no to-do lists, no responsibility for your life outside the dungeon.
The “You are nothing” is the switch that turns off the overworld.
And this is exactly where the door to sub-space opens. When the civilian ego falls silent, space is created for that ecstatic state. The chores of everyday life blur, the sense of time dissolves, and you sink into a deep, focused flow.

The Physiological Reaction: When the Body Takes Over
This isn’t just imagination; it’s a measurable reaction in your body. In sub-space, which can lead to a trance-like state, stress hormones are broken down. The conscious shame and the psychological sting of humiliation trigger processes in the brain very similar to those of physical intensity. Your body reacts with a targeted cocktail of neurochemicals:
- Endorphins: Natural painkillers that can create a high.
- Adrenaline: Provides alertness and lets you focus with extreme clarity on the moment and my instructions.
- Dopamine: The brain’s reward system, released as you accept and master the intensity of the situation.
This chemical process is the reason why many feel a deep sense of satisfaction and inner peace after a session. Less Ego — More Flow!
Reformatting: A New Operating System
In long-term slavery, the mechanisms are similar, but we go one step further. Here, it’s about a permanent redefinition of your value. A slave no longer defines himself by civilian success, but by his usefulness to his Master.
To achieve this, the old ego must be replaced by a new “slave-ego.” I like to call it: deleting the civilian overworld operating system to rebuild the boy with an underworld slave OS. In this process, humiliation becomes the tool for software installation. It breaks old patterns and makes room for an identity that is deeper, more authentic, and more focused than anything the civilian world has to offer.
The “Safe Space” of Degradation
Humiliation and shame are powerful tools that, in normal life, serve only one purpose: destruction. In a world of bullying and online hate, degradation is a weapon used to belittle and exclude.
But why is it different in BDSM?
The fundamental difference lies in the intention and the framework. It sounds paradoxical, but radical humiliation requires a maximum of trust. A slave doesn’t surrender because he feels worthless, but because he knows he is absolutely safe within the Master’s protection. He can only afford to be that vulnerable because the foundation is unshakable.
Deep down, he must feel: My Master has an extremely positive image of me. He appreciates my being, my loyalty, my body. Only then does humiliation lead not to psychological pain, but to a breathtaking, deep connection. It’s the certainty: “I am safe here. This person knows my darkest depths, my deepest shame, and he uses them in our safe space to lead me to a level of ecstasy I could never reach alone.”
This radical form of acceptance – being truly seen in the moment of total, shame-filled submission – provides the boy with a satisfaction he will never find in the sterile outside world.
You know I like playing with limits. This applies to physical stimuli, but even more so to Brainfuck. Here, humiliation is the scalpel I use to dissect the ego and reveal the core of the slave. But this requires me to know my boy incredibly well. I have to be like a seismograph, sensing when “euphoric overload” is about to tilt and the feeling of safety starts to crumble.
These are the moments where true mastery is required. If I notice the ice getting thin, I immediately integrate a trust-building action. And no, that doesn’t mean a hard break that kills the entire vibe. You can weave security into the heart of the storm: a brief, firm grip on the neck, a nuance of warmth in an otherwise harsh voice, or a knowing look signals to him: “I’ve got you. You’re safe. We’re going a step further.” There is no standard recipe for this because every boy is different. True mastery means knowing exactly that “little thing” that stabilizes the foundation of trust and safety while the storm rages above.
In civilian life, many use the humiliation of others to polish their own weak egos. A Master is not a bully who finds validation in tormenting others. The Master uses this tool to shape the slave – like a sculptor carving his masterpiece from a block of marble.
This takes time. And yes, mistakes happen occasionally. But they must not be grave, otherwise the marble shatters and everything is ruined. Dominance is the obligation to lead the protégé through the darkness so he can shine brighter in the light of his new identity.
Positive Motivation through “Negative” Feedback
What sounds paradoxical to outsiders is pure logic to us: humiliation in Kink is often a form of positive motivation. When I punish a boy for his “nothingness” or degrade him verbally, I am validating his role in that very moment.
It is an act of recognition. The boy feels: “My Master perceives me. He is looking closely. He is investing time, breath, and energy into shaping me.” Nothing is worse for a slave than disinterest. In my world, “negative” feedback, the sharp correction, the verbal degradation, is the signal that he is on the right track. It is the fuel that drives him deeper into his headspace.
By addressing him as a “lowly creature,” I give him the space to leave everything human, every burden, and every expectation of society at the door. I give him the freedom to simply be – to be himself – to be under me. This is not an act of contempt, but an act of empowering his longing and elevating him to a useful slave for his Master.
When this foundation is set, humiliation can even leave the safe confines of the underworld/dungeon and move into the social sphere, before the eyes of others, but that is a topic for another article, as entirely different laws of trust apply there.
For me, it is important that my slaves submit to ME. Only then is that submission truly valuable. They should not submit to the world – for then I, as a Master, would be equated with just anyone. Towards third parties, they should show through decency and courtesy that they have a submissive nature, but that does not mean everyone has the right to dominate them. That right belongs exclusively to the Owner, and those third parties the Master appoints.
