Today, let’s chat about a topic that maybe not everyone would bring up at dinner, but it’s super interesting: pubic hair and everything that comes with shaving. As someone who’s from China and now lives in Europe, I’ve definitely made some interesting observations.
You know, in China, body hair was always a more relaxed thing. Maybe it’s because we naturally tend to have less hair. A bit of fluff down there (or anywhere else) was just normal, and nobody made a big deal out of it. It was just… nature! Period. I mean, why would you worry much about something that’s just there and doesn’t bother anyone? That was my mindset, and that of most people I knew.
But of course, there’s a gay scene in China too, and things slowly started to change there. I noticed that many guys began to trim their pubic hair. Not a full shave, but more like tidying it up a bit, shortening it. It was a middle ground – still natural, but a bit more groomed, I’d say. It wasn’t a must, but it became more popular as a little extra for intimate moments. It was a subtle thing, not a big statement.
Europe’s Shaving Revolution – Blank is the New Black!
And then I came to Europe… Wow! That was a real culture shock when it comes to this topic! Especially here in the gay scene, and particularly with guys who tend to be bottoms, I quickly noticed: people shave here! And I mean everything! Completely blank, as if hair never existed. That’s become the absolute norm here, at least among young people, it feels like.
At first, I was really surprised. I mean, from “no big deal” to “everything must go” – that’s a pretty drastic jump! But I have to admit, it also has its appeal. It’s a completely different feeling, super smooth and somehow… freer, if you will. It also fits well with this sense of freedom and experimentation that I’m experiencing so strongly here in Europe.
