Okay, let’s dive deeper into my story.
So, yeah, growing up in Russia in the early 2000s wasn’t exactly a walk in the park. It was a time of change, of things being uncertain. My parents split when I was young, but my mom is a survivor. She did everything for me and my siblings. I learned a lot from her strength and resilience.
My escape was always computers. We had this old clunker at home, and I was obsessed with it. It was slow, and I was always trying to find spare parts to upgrade it. That’s how I discovered my love for IT. I loved tinkering, figuring things out, making things work better. It was like solving a puzzle, and I was hooked.
School was…well, school. I wasn’t the most popular kid, but I found my own way. I wasn’t into team sports, but I loved being active. My coach saw something in me and encouraged me to try different things. That’s how I got into cycling and later kayaking.
Cycling was tough. My coach was demanding, but I liked that. It was about pushing myself, seeing how far I could go. Sometimes I wouldn’t meet his expectations, and that was hard. But I learned to deal with that, to use it as motivation.
Kayaking was different. It was more about having fun, being out in nature with my friend. We’d go on these trips, just the two of us, exploring the wilderness. It was on those trips that I started to realize something about myself, about my sexuality. It was a process of discovery, of figuring things out.
After high school, IT was the obvious choice. I went to university and got my degree. That opened doors for me, including the chance to move to Germany. As a gay man in Russia, that was a big deal.
Germany is different. It’s more open, more accepting. I feel like I can be myself here. And yeah, the kink scene is definitely more active here. I’m exploring that side of myself, learning what I like, what my limits are.
Sports and sexuality have a lot in common for me. It’s about pushing boundaries, about performance, about endurance. There’s also the element of control and submission. In sports, I’m the one pushing myself, the one in control. But in other areas of my life, I enjoy giving up control, being vulnerable.
I’m drawn to that dynamic, the push and pull of it. It’s something I’m still figuring out, but it’s definitely a part of who I am.
Lycra and neoprene are my thing. I love the way they feel, that second-skin sensation. It’s probably connected to my love of bondage. There’s something about being bound, about giving up control, that I find incredibly arousing.
Ultimately, it’s about proving things to myself. In sports, it’s about pushing my physical limits. In other areas, it’s about exploring my desires, my kinks, my fetishes. It’s about being true to myself, about being the best version of myself I can be.
Yours,
Ru Popov
